North Sea Tales is a theatre workshop coordinated by the actors and musicians of Altamira Studio Teater from January to March 2016 in Holstebro Friskole. The workshop will consist of 14 meetings of 2 hours each, which will involve max. twenty students from 10 to 16 years old. The students will be led into a pedagogical and creative process with theatrical tools and languages, which will culminate in a final presentation at the beginning of March.
The frame of the North Sea Tales theme will stimulate their individual creativity and fantasy around a specific topic. The materials will afterwards be elaborated in a choral form in which storytelling, singing and dancing are composed together. The workshop is an occasion to integrate and balance the individual and the collective level of the creative work. The participants will develop their independent logics, associations and materials, that must have a pertinent relationship with a specific theme. The work on the chorus will compose together all these personal logics, implying discipline and collaboration among them.
